Terms of Service

The plain-English version of how AI Solutions by Bob works with clients and with visitors to this site.

Who this is

AI Solutions by Bob is a sole proprietorship operated by Bob Joyce, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. “We,” “I” and “AI Solutions by Bob” mean the same thing. “You” means anyone using this website or hiring me to build something.

Using this website

The site, the case studies and the public demos are here so you can see what I build. You are welcome to browse, read and try the demos. Please don’t scrape the site, attack it, or pass its content off as your own.

The demos run on invented data. Nothing in them belongs to a real company or a real person, and anything you type or upload into a browser-only demo stays in your browser.

Working with me

Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute conversation. If we go ahead, the scope, price and timeline go in writing before any work starts, and that written agreement is what governs the project. These terms fill in anything it doesn’t cover.

Payment. Invoices are due on the dates in the agreement. Work can pause if an invoice is more than 30 days overdue.
Changes. If the scope grows, we agree on the change and its cost before I build it.
Handover. When a project is done, you own what was built for you: the code, the data and the accounts it runs in. I set them up in your name wherever the platform allows.
Support. I stay available for fixes and changes after handover. Ongoing support is priced separately and agreed in writing.

Your data and your people’s data

Client information is confidential. I don’t share who my clients are, or anything about their operations, without their say-so. Screenshots and demos on this site use scrubbed or invented data only.

If the software I build for you stores information about your staff, volunteers or customers, you are the owner and controller of that information. I build it to be private by default and I review it for exposed data before it goes live, but keeping accounts, passwords and access lists current is on your side once it’s handed over.

Third-party services

The tools I build typically run on services like Netlify, Supabase, Squarespace and similar platforms, and may connect to systems you already use. Those services have their own terms and pricing, which apply to your use of them. I’ll tell you which ones a project depends on and what they cost before we start.

What I promise, and what I don’t

I build working software and I test it before it goes live. I don’t promise it will be free of every defect, or that a third-party service it depends on will never change or go down. If something breaks that I built, tell me and I’ll fix it.

To the extent the law allows, my liability on any project is limited to the amount you paid me for that project. I’m not liable for indirect losses such as lost revenue or lost data caused by things outside my control.

Ending an engagement

Either of us can end a project with written notice. You pay for the work completed up to that point and you keep what has been delivered.

Changes to these terms

I may update this page from time to time. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. A written project agreement always takes precedence over this page.
